Remember when Hailie Deegan was supposed to be one of the biggest young stars in NASCAR?

Because somehow, she feels like one of the sport’s biggest disappearing acts right now.

Deegan was everywhere a few years ago.

Truck Series headlines.

Xfinity.

Social media.

Endless discussion about whether she could become the next major female star in stock-car racing.

Then she left NASCAR for Indy NXT.

Then she came back.

And now?

She’s quietly racing the ARCA Menards Series West.

Deegan returned to Bill McAnally Racing for a full 13-race schedule in 2026, chasing her first series championship.

She’s actually been pretty damn good lately, too.

Just this weekend at All American Speedway in Roseville, Deegan finished third in the NAPA Auto Parts 150 — only 0.219 seconds behind the winner.

So why does it feel like nobody is talking about her?

That’s the weird part.

Eight races into the season, Deegan was sitting sixth in the championship standings with five top-10 finishes.

The driver who once seemed destined to be a fixture in NASCAR’s national series is now quietly grinding away on the West Coast.

And maybe that’s exactly what she needs.

Because if Hailie Deegan can turn this comeback into an ARCA West championship, suddenly everybody will remember where she came from.

The question isn’t where Hailie Deegan went.

It’s whether NASCAR is going to wish it had been paying attention when she gets back.
