Where does Titans’ front seven rank across the NFL?
It was a slow Saturday in and around the NFL, so diving into the upcoming season was about all anyone could do, and while digging into some different outlets, there was a ranking of the league’s front sevens.
The Tennessee Titans made significant changes to their unit and appear much improved over last season’s disappointment. On top of that, with Robert Saleh now in place as head coach, the unit should be poised for major improvement under his coaching alone. The Sharp Football analysis team looked at every team’s front seven and slotted the Titans lower than many would expect.
No. 22: Tennessee Titans
Evaluating the Titans’ front seven was difficult due to the complete overhaul. Last year’s unit couldn’t stop anyone 一 it allowed 10 or more yards on 12% of carries by running backs, ranked 28th. But rookies Keldric Faulk and Anthony Hill, along with veterans John Franklin-Myers and Jordan Elliott, should improve the situation.

It may be difficult to see exactly how all of the changes will look once they hit the field, but coming in 22nd feels a bit low considering the scheme change and multiple upgrades made along the front seven. Plus, with both Jeffery Simmons and Cedric Gray returning, Tennessee was building on a solid foundation that was handcuffed by a scheme. This analysis also doesn’t take into account the massive amount of injuries the unit suffered through during their dismal 2025 campaign when pointing out their miserable stat line.
Yes, the unit has to come together and perform, but they have the potential to be one of the NFL’s surprise defensive units in 2026.
