When will Micah Parsons come back to the Packers?
Ahead of a big Sunday night home game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers might have some positive momentum going following a cathartic win over their rival, the Chicago Bears, last week. That’s the good news here.
The bad news for the Packers is that they’re still going to be without their best player for the primetime matchup. Star pass-rusher Micah Parsons, who tore his ACL last December, will still not play against the Cowboys on Sunday night, as he has yet to return to Packers practice. However, it sure seems like Parsons’ return might come relatively soon.
Per The Ringer’s and Netflix’s Tom Pelissero, Parsons isn’t ready for Packers practice quite yet. He actually might even have his status in doubt until Week 9, in early November, in a road game against the New England Patriots. It’s a good thing the Packers are letting Parsons take his time in his recovery, but it definitely hurts for him to likely miss half the 2026 season:
Josh Jacobs will immediately return as the Packers’ starting running back next week at Detroit.
Meanwhile, Micah Parsons still isn’t ready to practice, making it unlikely he plays before Nov. 8 against the Patriots at the soonest.

In many ways, Parsons is the straw that stirs the drink for the Packers on defense. They looked like a different team when he was available and wreaking havoc for them last season. Getting him back healthy and at full capacity for this season’s stretch run should be a big boost for the Packers, even if it does mean missing a few more games.
