What Donald Trump told Dennis Rodman backstage after WNBA pardon
Donald Trump stirred up the internet after poking fun at the WNBA’s gender debate.
Donald Trump reignited the debate over WNBA gender policies by jokingly issuing a “full pardon” and custom exemption for Dennis Rodman and Enes Kanter Freedom to join the league.
Speaking at an Oklahoma rally with both former NBA stars in attendance, Trump mocked their sheer size backstage, teasing that Freedom “dreams of playing against women” and predicting the pair would shatter every record in women’s sports history.
Freedom, who launched a stunt campaign for the WNBA draft, embraced the moment by inviting Trump to a game and confirming Rodman agreed to train him during the offseason.
Dennis Rodman told he’s the best rebounder in basketball history
Donald Trump couldn’t stop raving about Dennis Rodman backstage at an Oklahoma rally, taking a second to hype up the NBA legend. Calling him the greatest rebounder to ever touch a basketball, Trump gave his old buddy a shoutout, laughing, “My friend, my friend… You know what, you look good too, Dennis.”
He said: “This guy could rip those rebounds. The best rebounder in the history of basketball. My friend, my friend. You know what, you look good too, Dennis.”
Dennis Rodman ranks 24th in total rebounds with 11,954, but his 13.1 average per game puts him 11th on the all-time list.
At the end of the day, whether Enes Kanter Freedom ever sets foot on a WNBA court comes down to the league’s official eligibility rules. Donald Trump isn’t changing any policy here, he’s just doing what he does best, stirring the pot and throwing more fuel on the circus.
