What can Rangers expect from Jagiellonia Bialystok?

Rangers will face Polish side Jagiellonia Bialystok in the third round of Europa League qualifying, with matches scheduled to be played on 6 and 13 August.

But what can Derek McInnes’ side expect as they try to take a step closer to the tournament proper?

Well, Jagiellonia are a fixture in the Polish top flight and finished third in the 2025-26 season behind Lech Poznan and Gornik Zabrze.

They progressed through three rounds of qualifying to reach the Conference League last season and made it to the knockout phase play-offs, where they almost caused a mighty shock against Italian outfit Fiorentina.

Having lost 3-0 at home in the first leg, they forced extra time thanks to Bartosz Mazurek’s hat-trick in the second leg before eventually losing 5-4 on aggregate.

Rangers are ranked 49th in Uefa’s club coefficient rankings, while Jagiellonia are 86th.

Former Celtic defender Yuki Kobayashi signed for Jagiellonia last summer and has made 23 first-team appearances to date.

Last season’s top scorer Afimico Pululu departed upon the expiration of his contract earlier this summer, but Rangers will still have to be wary of experienced Spanish forward Jesus Imaz, who scored 18 times last term.
