Lambeau Field’s historic atmosphere was rocked on Thursday night when the Atlanta Falcons came to town.

The Green Bay Packers have been knocked back to a 1-2 start after the Falcons picked up their first victory of the season in Wisconsin.

Kevin Stefanski’s Falcons head back to Atlanta following a 21-point victory over the Packers, which sent their fans wild in the stands at Lambeau.

Green Bay has become well-known for creating an incredible atmosphere inside Lambeau, but the poor performance on Thursday allowed the Falcons faithful to take over.

It was that big of a surprise to hear the visiting fans in full voice that even Al Michaels was left in disbelief that he was hearing the Falcons supporters.

The fans were out in Green Bay for what was their first home game of the season, but they were left incredibly disappointed by the showing from their Packers.

In contrast, the travelling Falcons fans were in fine voice, with ‘ATL’ chants heard during the third quarter, which even left Michaels confused.

“I’m trying to decipher this chant. You don’t hear a lot of [unhappy] chants at Lambeau,” he said during the broadcast.

The fact that Michaels could not even determine that he was hearing the Atlanta fans shows just how uncommon it is for the visiting team’s fans to take over at Lambeau.

Footage from the broadcast throughout the game showed just how shocked the home fans were to see their side convincingly swept aside by the Falcons.

Jordan Love may have thrown for 312 yards, but he ended the game with a completion rate of just 52 per cent.

The Packers head back on the road to face another struggling side in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week, which would really pile on the pressure if they fail to win.
