WEEK 8 RECAP Plymouth, Clear Fork remain in playoff football hunt
Just three Richland County teams won in Week 8 as playoff hopes are becoming solidified for some and slipping away for others.

Plymouth 42, Danbury 36
The Plymouth Big Red picked up a very important 42-36 Northern 8 Conference victory over Danbury on Friday night to move one step closer to an 8-man football playoff spot.
After Danbury struck first, Plymouth’s Lincoln Distl tied the game at 6 all with a 60-yard touchdown run. He later added a 54-yard touchdown catch to make it 12-12 before Isaiah Miller had a 70-yard touchdown run to make it 20-20 and caught a TD pass with 7:04 left in the game to make it 34-28 Big Red. After Danbury took back the lead, Miller scored the game-winning touchdown with 42 seconds remaining to help the Big Red move to 4-4 on the season and 4-3 in the Northern 8 Conference.
Plymouth travels to Stryker on Oct. 17 with a chance to clinch a Top 4 playoff spot.
Clear Fork 20, Highland 14
The Clear Fork Colts escaped with a 20-14 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Highland on Friday night.
Alex Schlosser got the scoring started with a six-yard touchdown run with 2:16 left in the first quarter before Highland answered with 14 unanswered points to take a 14-7 lead into the fourth quarter. Marcus Hoeflich then connected with Quentin Rinehart on a 35-yard touchdown pass with 9:38 left in the game to tie things up at 14-14. Nash Evans then scored the game-winning touchdown on an 8-yard run with 1:01 remaining to give the Colts the victory.
Hoeflich finished with two completions for 55 yards and a score while running for 75 yards on 15 carries. Nash Evans was sensational running for 161 yards on six carries with a touchdown. Rinehart’s only catch went for a 35-yard score.
The Colts ran for 248 yards and threw for 55 to pile up 303 yards of total offense.
Clear Fork improves to 6-2 on the season and 3-2 in the MOAC. The Colts host River Valley in Week 9.
Wooster 25, Mansfield Senior 13
Western Reserve 46, Crestview 8
The Crestview Cougars took a tough 46-8 Firelands Conference loss to Western Reserve on Friday night in Week 8.
The Cougars got on the board with 1:15 remaining in the game when Camden Keener connected with Carson Keener on a 49-yard touchdown pass. Carson Keener added the two-point conversion.
Camden Keener finished with four completions for 76 yards, a touchdown and an interception while Carson Keener caight three passes for 63 yards. Wyatt Barber ran for 53 yards while Gavin Webb added 21 yards on the ground.
The Cougars fall to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the Firelands Conference. They travel to Monroeville in Week 9.
Seneca East 17, Lucas 0
The Lucas Cubs took a tough 17-0 Northern 10 Conference loss to Seneca East on Friday night in Week 8.
Brady Anschutz led the Cubs with 68 rushing yards as the ran for 166 yards on 50 carries as a team.
The Cubs fall to 4-4 and host Hopewell-Loudon in Week 9.
