'We must win all 18 LGAs in 2027' – Enoh warns Cross River APC

· · 1 min read

Minister of State for Industry, Senator John Owan Enoh, has warned the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Cross River State against a repeat of its poor performance in the 2023 presidential election, when Labour Party candidate Peter Obi won 10 of the state’s 18 local government areas.

Enoh, who is also Director of Manufacturing and MSME Sector Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, gave the warning during the inauguration of the Cross River State executives and polling unit coordinators of Project Beyond 2027 in Calabar.

He said the APC must work towards winning all 18 local government areas in the state in the next general election.

“In the 2023 election, out of 18 local governments, our president only won seven. Atiku Abubakar won one. Ten of Cross River’s local governments were won by Peter Obi,” he said.

Enoh said the new political structure was expected to work with the state APC leadership to improve the party’s performance, particularly in the southern senatorial district.

He urged the coordinators to engage residents at the ward and polling unit levels, including markets and communities, to canvass support for Tinubu and other APC candidates.

The inauguration took place at Atu Field in Calabar South Local Government Area.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Industrial Training and Development and a trustee of Project Beyond, Adamson Oluwatosin Ayinde, said the initiative was established in 2021, with its headquarters in Abuja.

The event featured the inauguration of the state executives and polling unit structures, as well as the administration of an oath of office.
