‘We must use Miss World to promote Nigeria’ – Keyamo
Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has called for greater use of international platforms such as the Miss World pageant to promote Nigeria’s tourism potential and rich cultural heritage.
Speaking on Tuesday while hosting Tamunosoye Karibi-George and her team ahead of the upcoming Miss World competition in Vietnam, Keyamo said aviation and tourism remain vital sectors for driving Nigeria’s economic growth and enhancing the country’s global image.
“We must leverage global platforms like Miss World to showcase Nigeria’s tourism potential and cultural heritage,” the minister said.
Keyamo also revealed that the ministry would engage foreign airlines operating in Nigeria to support Karibi-George’s participation by sponsoring her return flight tickets as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
The minister expressed confidence that Nigeria’s representative would serve as a strong ambassador for the country on the global stage while helping to project a positive image of Nigeria.
