‘We are waiting for you’ – Osimhen welcomes Lookman to Galatasaray

· · 1 min read

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has allegedly encouraged his international teammate, Ademola Lookman, to contemplate a transfer to Turkish giants Galatasaray in anticipation of the 2026 summer transfer window.

Lookman recently transferred to Spanish club Atlético Madrid from Atalanta during the winter transfer window after garnering interest from numerous top European teams.

Since his arrival at the Wanda Metropolitano, the Nigerian forward has swiftly acclimated to life in La Liga, netting nine goals and providing four assists in 24 matches across all competitions.

Despite his remarkable performances in Spain, speculation regarding his future has continued to intensify, with reports suggesting a potential move to Turkish champions Galatasaray.

Such a transfer would allow him to reunite with fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, who has established himself as a pivotal player at the Istanbul-based club.

According to reports from Fotomaç, Osimhen has personally encouraged Lookman to make the transition to Turkey, emphasizing the strong sense of camaraderie and family within the Galatasaray squad.

In statements conveyed via Habersarikirmizi, Osimhen reportedly remarked: “We are waiting for you at Galatasaray. Come and be a part of this family.”

If the transfer comes to fruition, Lookman’s addition would significantly enhance Galatasaray’s attacking capabilities ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Nigerian winger could also be seen as a potential successor for Argentine forward Mauro Icardi, whose future at the club remains in doubt amid rumors of a possible exit from Istanbul this summer.
