Watch: Notre Dame 2027 commit with an insane punt return touchdown

It’s one thing the be on national TV in high school, it’s entirely another to make a massive play and that’s exactly what one Notre Dame’s 2027 commits did over the weekend.

St. Thomas Aquinas of Florida hosted Texas’ DeSoto in a highly anticipated matchup that featured multiple top prospects including two Irish commits in safety Zayden Gamble and wide receiver Julius Jones. The Raider won the game, 38-14, as an unexpected touchdown helped their cause.

Gamble was back as one of the punt returners, and DeSoto opted to kick to the other side as he’d taken one back earlier but a flag negated the score. It didn’t matter much, as the safety still got the ball, albeit on a fumble, picked it up and raced down the right side of the field for over 60-yards and into the end zone.

It’s looking like Gamble might not just help Notre Dame on defense, but he could be a huge weapon on special teams. Check out the return below, as the improbable touchdown helped STA gain a national victory over DeSoto.
