WATCH: Jaxon Smith-Njigba makes jaw-dropping catch on 28-yard TD
It took nearly an entire half, but there is finally a touchdown in the Seattle Seahawks‘ Sunday night matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. On third and nine from the Chiefs’ 29-yard line, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold took a shot downfield to wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba who came down with the catch.
Smith-Njigba was originally ruled out of bounds at the one-yard line. However, after review, it was determined he was in the end zone for the touchdown, giving Seattle a 10-0 lead with under two minutes to go until halftime.

After the touchdown, Smith-Njigba has four receptions for 80 yards and the game’s only touchdown. On Kansas City’s ensuing drive, the Seahawks defense forced a three-and-out to give the ball back to Seattle’s offense with 1:16 left in the half with a chance to add onto their lead.
However, after another incredible catch by Smith-Njigba set the Seahawks up a few yards away from a touchdown, Darnold threw an interception in the end zone, which was returned 64 yards, giving Kansas City the chance to get points before the half. But kicker Harrison Butker’s 58-yard field goal was short and Seattle went into halftime with a 10-0 lead.
