It may still take some time for fans to get used to the reality that Giannis Antetokounmpo is now a member of the Miami Heat. Adding to the surreal feeling of the “Greek Freak’s” venture in South Beach is his first-ever introduction as a Heat in Miami during Tuesday night’s Red, White & Pink Game.
Here is a look at Antetokounmpo’s introduction at Kaseya Center in Miami, just before the annual intra-squad scrimmage.

This exhibition game is for a cause, with ticket sales all going to”benefiting cancer care and research at Baptist Health Herbert Wertheim Cancer Institute,” according to the NBA’s official website.
However, this is not the first time that Antetokounmpo would see action in a game wearing Heat threads. He already did over the weekend, when he played for 14 minutes in a preseason game against the Toronto Raptors at Videotron Centre in Quebec City. He scored nine points on a perfect 3-for-3 shooting from the field with four rebounds and a game-high seven assists to help the Heat crush Toronto, 129-105.
Antetokounmpo’s addition to the Heat instantly makes Miami a top contender in the East after it missed the NBA Playoffs last season.
The Heat acquired Antetokounmpo via a blockbuster summer trade with the Milwaukee Bucks, who sent the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player to Miami along with veteran forward Bobby Portis in exchange for Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakučionis and the No. 13 pick in the 2026 NBA draft that later turned into former Tennessee Volunteers product Nate Ament.
The Heat have four more preseason games to play before opening their 2026-27 NBA campaign with a home game on Oct. 21 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
