Who was the best baseball player in the Knoxville area in 2026?

Knox News’ PrepXtra baseball teams are on the horizon, but in the meantime, you can vote your top player from the area. Note that the poll will close at noon on Sunday, June 21.

Travis Brummitt Jr., Farragut: Brummitt led Farragut to a historic fifth consecutive TSSAA state title with 56 RBIs, 53 hits, 29 walks, nine doubles and five home runs while batting .411. The Class 4A TBCA Mr. Baseball finalist went 10-0 on the mound with a 2.05 ERA and 70 strikeouts through 65 pitched innings.

Brody Carr, Jefferson County: Carr, another Class 4A Mr. Baseball finalist, batted .414 with 41 hits, 31 walks, 30 RBIs, 10 doubles, four home runs and two triples. He pitched 63⅓ innings and went 7-0 with 124 strikeouts and two saves on a 0.66 ERA.

Myles Cox, Alcoa: The Texas A&M commit posted a 1.41 ERA and threw 113 strikeouts in 69⅓ innings. Cox had a 12-0 record and batters had an average of 0.153 against him.

Who are Knoxville area’s top TSSAA football receivers returning for 2026 season?

Gaven French, Heritage: Of his 62 hits, French recorded 17 home runs and 16 doubles. He batted .463 with 56 RBIs and drew 48 walks. French also dominated on the mound with a 1.18 ERA and 109 strikeouts.

Will Harmon, Greeneville: Harmon had a 10-2 record as a pitcher through 78⅓ innings with 124 strikeouts and a 1.25 ERA. He batted .376 with 62 hits, 61 RBIs, 18 walks, 11 doubles and 10 home runs.

Wyatt Jones, CAK: Jones was the Co-Offensive Player of the Year in Division II-A East after logging 59 hits, 44 RBIs, 19 walks, 13 doubles, 11 steals, eight home runs and five triples.

DJ Lowery, Catholic: Lowery batted .430 and finished with 49 hits, 38 RBIs, 35 steals, 12 home runs, nine doubles and four triples.

Nick Riordan, Central: Through 36 pitched innings, Riordan snagged 60 strikeouts with a 2.33 ERA. He also recorded 52 hits, 40 RBIs, 21 walks, 20 seals, 11 doubles, eight home runs and five triples on a .419 batting average.

Michael Teasley, Oak Ridge: Teasley repeated as the Class 4A Mr. Baseball winner with a 1.15 ERA, 114 strikeouts and a 9-0 record through 60⅔ innings. He had a .393 batting average with 30 RBIs, 25 steals, 10 doubles, five home runs and a triple.

Jackson Treece, Coalfield: Treece was a Class A Mr. Baseball finalist with elite numbers on both sides. On the mound, he threw 51 strikeouts and posted a 1.58 ERA with a 9-0 record. Then, at the plate, Treece batted an even .500 with 63 hits, 38 RBIs, 15 steals, 14 doubles and six homers.

Brody Watson, Pigeon Forge: Watson was named Mr. Baseball in Class 2A with 49 hits, 37 RBIs, 35 walks, 11 home runs, eight doubles and six triples on a .458 batting average.

Miles Watson, Alcoa: Watson piled 75 RBIs on top of 18 home runs and 10 doubles on .477 batting.
