Virat Kohli will step out for India once more in the second ODI against West Indies at Guwahati, with the hosts holding a 1-0 lead in the three-match series after a comfortable chase in Thiruvananthapuram.

The former captain, who was in commanding form in the opener, will be hoping to carry that momentum into a game that could seal the series.

In the first ODI, Kohli scored a blistering unbeaten 139 off just 88 balls, an innings that, together with a century from Shubman Gill, took India past a target of 296 with 50 balls still remaining. It was a knock that also helped him reach 15,000 runs in ODI cricket and equal Sachin Tendulkar’s record of centuries on Indian soil. 

If he smashes another ton on Wednesday, Kohli would surpass Tendulkar’s record of 42 centuries in the subcontinent.
