Senator Ali Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, has dismissed allegations linking him to ransom payments and negotiations with kidnappers, insisting that he has never received ransom money or played any role in talks between kidnappers and the government.

Ndume made the clarification on Friday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he responded to claims made by the President of the Borno South Youth Alliance, Samaila Kaigama.

The lawmaker was accused of being involved in ransom negotiations connected to the release of abducted residents of Ngoshe in Borno State.

“I have said it already. In my life, I have never seen ₦1 billion cash, not to talk of ₦5 billion,” the senator said.

The lawmaker maintained that he neither negotiated with the terrorists nor participated in any ransom arrangement, stating that his only involvement was notifying security agencies after Kaigama informed him about a video allegedly released by Boko Haram/ISWAP demanding a ₦5 billion ransom.
