They did just that in Game 3 as the Spurs won after some phenomenal decision-making throughout all 48 minutes. The Spurs beat the New York Knicks by making smarter decisions and staying in control throughout the game.

It has been a tough series for the Spurs because their inexperience has been apparent. Of course, they disagree that their lack of experience is a factor, but it is showing up from time to time, especially during Game 2.

That was not present quite often in Game 3, which led to the Spurs’ victory. It was a hard-fought and earned victory by the Spurs, which they will want to keep going ahead of Game 4.

The narrative around the NBA Finals after Game 2 was that this Spurs team was too young. It was clear that they were struggling with making poised decisions, which Wembanyama himself admitted was a problem, but it seems they have addressed it in Game 3.

“Less mistakes, more control. It’s the little things, less mistakes, less turnovers, it was a whole… Defense fuels offense, and vice versa, communication, and being early,” Wembanyama said after Game 3 of the NBA Finals.

Now that the Spurs have finally won a game in this series, they are going into Game 4 with as much confidence as they can have. It will be difficult for the Knicks, but they will surely want to have a strong performance in front of the fans at Madison Square Garden.
