India’s latest teenage sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, was back in action after a sensational IPL campaign in India A colours against  Sri Lanka A on Tuesday at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla, Sri Lanka.

The boy wonder was in majestic form in the recently concluded IPL season, having scored 776 runs in the 16 innings he played.

He collected five individual awards, including the Most Valuable Player award with a points tally of 436.5, the Orange Cap and also the  Super Striker of the Season award.

As a result of his heroics in the IPL circuit, he has been included in the India A squad. 

How many runs did Vaibhav Sooryavanshi score in India A vs Sri Lanka A?

Sooryavanshi started brightly in the match and smashed three boundaries. He was dismissed for just 14 runs in 12 balls after trying to loft it over mid-off. 

However, the bat turned in his hand and could not generate the elevation and power to clear the fence. Sahan Arachchige, the Sri Lanka A skipper, dived full length and completed the catch to dismiss the teenager.

The India A vs Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A Tri-Nation series 2026 follows a double round-robin format, where each team plays the other two sides twice.

Each team plays four league matches in the 50-over (List A) format, making a total of six games before the final.

The top two teams on the points table qualify for the final, with points awarded as 2 for a win, 1 for no result, and 0 for a loss.
