USMNT's Jack McGlynn scores beautiful goal for Stoke City to open Championship account (video)

Jack McGlynn made his first Stoke City start and bagged a beautiful first Stoke City goal as the American helped the Potters to a 2-1 win over Watford on Saturday.

McGlynn, 23, arrived at Stoke from Houston on September 1 and played 32 and 21 minutes across two sub stints before drawing this start.

He got the ball in a central position, cut past one Hornets defender, and splashed the side netting across goal with a pretty strike deep in first-half stoppage time.

Playing on the right wing, McGlynn played into the 90th minute and took three shots from around the edge of the box. This was the one that wasn’t blocked by a Watford defender.

He had 59 touches and six passes into the final third, taking four corner kicks and drawing a foul in the win, which sends Stoke ninth with 10 points, four off leaders West Ham.

With Sebastian Berhalter scoring twice for high-flying Middlesbrough, a team with three other Americans in Aidan Morris, Max Arfsten, and Rokas Pukstas, this is a fun time for USMNT fans to watch the Championship.
