USF dominates Minot State on the road
MINOT, N.D. (USF ATHLETICS) – The University of Sioux Falls Volleyball team completed a perfect weekend on the road Saturday afternoon, defeating Minot State in straight sets inside the MSU Dome.
The Cougars earned the 25-22, 25-15, 25-17 victory less than 24 hours after sweeping UMary in Bismarck. Sioux Falls improved to 6-11 overall and 2-7 in NSIC play with its second consecutive conference victory, while Minot State fell to 3-14 overall and 0-9 in the league.

Minot State scored the first two points of the afternoon before Sioux Falls answered with five straight to grab an early 5-2 advantage. The Cougars continued to build on the lead, moving ahead 16-7 before the Beavers mounted a late push. Minot State eventually trimmed a 23-17 deficit to just one at 23-22, but
combined for a block to finish the 25-22 win.
Sioux Falls controlled the second set from the opening serve. Wolfe delivered back-to-back kills as the Cougars jumped out to a 3-0 lead before stretching the advantage to 11-5. Minot State pulled within four at 15-11, but USF answered by scoring six of the next eight points. Gates ultimately closed the frame with a kill to give the Cougars a commanding 25-15 victory. USF hit .321 in the set while committing just one attacking error.
The Cougars continued to apply pressure in the third, opening up a 10-6 advantage before Minot State pulled within one at 10-9. Sioux Falls responded with four consecutive points, highlighted by a
service ace and a Wolfe-Haus block, to regain control. Walker helped USF extend its lead to 20-12 before the Beavers made one final push. The Cougars closed the door down the stretch, with Haus delivering the match-ending kill for the 25-17 victory and the second straight sweep.
