USC football plays the Washington Huskies this season. UW Huskies Wire looked at the Washington secondary, including up-and-comer Dylan Robinson.

“The 6-foot-3, 210-pound former four-star recruit impressed throughout the 2025 season, recording 16 tackles, 1.5 for loss, a sack, a pass breakup, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery, displaying what the UW coaching staff believes to be a limitless ceiling.

“‘He comes in at 18, and his first start is lining up against (Ohio State star wide receiver) Jeremiah Smith…so that tells you what kind of mentality he has and what he is mentally prepared for,’ (Washington defensive coordinator Ryan) Walters said.

“For Robinson, with another year to train at the position after starring on both sides of the ball at Bonita High School in Southern California, that experience could help him take a big step forward and help the Huskies outplay (Phil) Steele’s ranking.

“‘The biggest change coming in as a freshman was the neurological aspect of it,’ Robinson said. ‘There’s a lot of thinking that you have to do compared to high school, so the biggest thing getting into games was really trying to process each play, recognizing the down and distance, the formation, the personnel, stuff like that. And so, especially coming into the spring, I’m a lot more comfortable recognizing those things and using those to my advantage.'”

Ryan Walters is an excellent defensive coordinator for Washington. Lincoln Riley has to be on top of his game, helping the USC receivers to find the right way to handle the UW secondary and Dylan Robinson.
