USC head coach Lincoln Riley addressed his viral postgame exchange with Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork on Tuesday, describing the incident as resolved.
The confrontation followed the Trojans’ 30-18 victory over the then-No. 2 Buckeyes on Saturday at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Videos of the encounter circulated after fans stormed the field to celebrate the upset.
The California Post’s Ben Bolch shared a video Tuesday on X, formerly Twitter, of Riley addressing the interaction during media availability and explaining what happened as the teams left the field.

“Yeah, not an issue. I mean, just typical emotions after the game. We squashed it all the way up the tunnel. Ross, good guy, really good AD. It’s really a non-issue.”

The exchange occurred near the Coliseum’s shared tunnel, where both teams and staff encountered congestion after the game. Riley was with his family when he exchanged words with Ohio State personnel.
Footage showed staff members stepping between the parties as they moved toward the tunnel. Bjork’s exact comments were not clearly audible, leaving the words that prompted Riley’s reaction uncertain. Ohio State declined comment on the matter.
The scene attracted attention after a significant result for the Trojans, who rebounded from a loss to Wisconsin the previous week. Beating Ohio State renewed USC’s CFP hopes during Riley’s fifth season leading the program. USC is ranked No. 20 following the upset, adding a ranked win to its resume as the College Football Playoff race continues.

The victory also preceded an unusual postgame press conference in which Riley read a prepared statement defending his leadership and emphasizing the program’s internal standards.
On Tuesday, his response focused on the encounter with Bjork, which he said the two had settled while continuing through the tunnel.
