Provisional certificates with verification codes

The Vice-Chancellor also disclosed that the university had introduced a system that automatically generates provisional certificates after students complete their clearance.

He said the certificates would contain barcodes that employers and other institutions could scan to verify their authenticity.

“Once you finish the clearance, the system generates a provisional certificate for you, which you can download online.

“It has a barcode, so when you apply for a job, they can scan the barcode, receive an authentication code and authenticate your certificate,” he said.

The initiative is expected to make it easier for graduates to provide verifiable evidence of their academic qualifications when applying for employment or further studies.

Anyaehie further said the university had digitised its transcript processing system as part of efforts to make the process faster and reduce unnecessary delays for students and graduates.

He said staff responsible for processing transcripts had been encouraged to ensure that students and graduates received the necessary services without avoidable delays.

The university already operates digital platforms for transcript applications and verification, including services for local and international requests.

UNIZIK plans improved classroom facilities

Beyond administrative reforms, the Vice-Chancellor announced plans to improve classroom facilities across the university.

He said students would no longer be expected to attend lectures in classrooms without adequate seating and other necessary facilities.

Anyaehie said the administration was committed to repositioning the university through collaboration with its alumni and other partners.

He acknowledged the contributions of the university’s alumni chapters and other partners, noting that their support had helped the institution execute projects and address some of its challenges.

“We are growing a university that fits the name and answers to its name. It is a journey; we have started, and we can do more.

“We will go far if we join our resources and efforts together,” he said.

The digital reforms are part of broader efforts by the university administration to modernise its academic and administrative processes and improve the experience of students and graduates.
