U-20 WWC: Nigerian-born England star Ademiluyi ready for Falconets

Nigerian-born England U20 striker, Princess Ademiluyi, has said that she is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to play against the Falconets in the round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Originally from Gravesend, Kent, the Ipswich Town forward is eligible to represent the Super Falcons through her Nigerian parentage.

However, having played for England at youth levels, Ademiluyi would be required to submit a formal request for a change of nationality should she choose to pledge allegiance to Nigeria in the future.

England advanced to the knockout round of the tournament by maintaining an undefeated record throughout the group phase. The Young Lionesses will play Nigeria at Stadion Miejski Bielsko-Biała in Bielsko-Biała on Thursday afternoon.

Notwithstanding her Nigerian heritage and the significance of facing the Falconets, Ademiluyi has demonstrated her commitment to treating the match with the same professional approach as any other fixture.

Speaking to the official website of England Football, she stated, “It’s amazing to play against Nigeria, but it doesn’t change the game. When I step out onto that field I will show up like it’s any other game.

“After the game though, it’ll be nice to chat to a few of their players and see how they’re doing on their side.”

Ademiluyi, who wears the No. 9 jersey, was among the goal scorers during the Young Lionesses’ 5-1 victory over Tanzania in the group stage.
