We finally have a date, location and a network for the long-awaited battle between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Oh, and there’s a legitimate world title on the line. Let’s take a closer look at all the particulars for the biggest boxing match in British heavyweight history. Let’s talk boxing.

The winner takes the WBA “super” heavyweight title, per Ring Magazine. Fury enters 36-2-1 with 25 knockouts, Joshua 30-4 with 27. Principality Stadium’s retractable roof removes December weather from the equation and makes a late start workable. Both men appear together at a London press conference at British Airways Arc on Wednesday, September 30.

Joshua’s camp pushed to keep the fight in Britain while Madison Square Garden emerged as the serious alternative, and Cardiff settled it. Joshua has boxed at Principality Stadium twice, stopping Carlos Takam in October 2017 and outpointing Joseph Parker the following March to add the WBO belt. The city’s old National Stadium hosted Lennox Lewis against Frank Bruno in 1993.
