Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, appeared on The Pat McAfee Show this week and delivered the clearest update yet on the 32-year-old’s recovery.

“His doctors have recommended though that he postpone his comeback until perhaps sometime in October,” Rosenhaus told McAfee. “We’re playing it on the safe side. We’re not in a rush. We just want him to be completely healthy.”

The update caps months of uncertainty for Hill, who suffered a dislocated left knee, a torn ACL, and damage to multiple ligaments during a Week 4 game against the New York Jets last September.

The injury ended his 2025 campaign after just four games and led the Miami Dolphins to release him this past February.

Hill has spent the past several months documenting his rehab, and in an earlier recovery update he admitted to having little strength in the injured leg. Recent workout clips paint a more encouraging picture, showing him running routes and training at home.

Before the injury, Hill was still one of football’s most dangerous weapons. He led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdown catches in 2023. Numbers that explain why teams remain patient rather than moving on entirely, though his production dipped to 959 yards and six scores the following year

Hill’s track record is exactly why several franchises are still watching closely, and one in particular has emerged as the most logical fit.

Rosenhaus confirmed that multiple teams have inquired about Hill, though he stopped short of naming names.

According to ESPN’s Nate Taylor, the Chiefs remain the only team explicitly connected to Hill so far, a fitting storyline given he began his career there and won Super Bowl LIV with the franchise in 2020.
