Tyquan Thornton out at least three months

· · 1 min read

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyquan Thornton (ankle) had extensive tests Monday, Oct. 5, on the dislocated left ankle he suffered in the Week 4 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He is expected back in 12 to 16 weeks, according to sources.

Thornton will have surgery within the week, and there is a real chance he is able to return late in the regular season or in the playoffs, should Kansas City qualify.

Thornton was able to fly home from Las Vegas with the team after doctors put his ankle back into place.

Why it Matters: Thornton was crushing it against the Raiders, rolling up 111 yards and two touchdowns before going down. To make matters worse, Rashee Rice exited the game, too. The team reportedly has reached out to free-agent Tyreek Hill about a potential reunion. For Thornton, there is no reason keeping him around on a fantasy roster unless you have unlimited injured reserve spots.
