Two Warriors receive interesting recognition ahead of 2026-27 NBA season

As NBA fans await the 2026-27 season, Bleacher Report released an intriguing list, ranking the best players in the league by age. The list featured two current Golden State Warriors and one former team member.

Beginning with the former Warriors player, Kevin Durant was named as the best 37-year-old in the league, tying for 10th in points per game last season, averaging 26 per contest with the Houston Rockets.

Unsurprisingly, Stephen Curry was listed as the best 38-year-old in the NBA. The race wasn’t exactly close, as there are only three other players currently 38, those being Mike Conley (Celtics) and centers DeAndre Jordan (Pelicans) and Brook Lopez (Clippers). Last season, Curry remained the motor that drove Golden State’s offense, averaging 26.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.4 blocks.

Al Horford also received recognition from Bleacher Report, as he was named the best 40-year-old in the NBA, earning the nod over Taj Gibson, who is still active with the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite his rising age, Horford outperformed his 2024-25 stats last season with the Warriors, averaging more assists, steals and blocks in fewer minutes. He finished his first year with Golden State, averaging 8.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.1 blocks. Out of all rostered players heading into the 2026-27 season, only LeBron James of the Philadelphia 76ers is older (41).
