Trump rejects Saudi prince’s request for US strikes on Houthis – Report

US President Donald Trump has reportedly rejected a request from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for direct American military strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen.

According to a report by Axios, citing two US officials, the Saudi crown prince spoke with Trump twice on Thursday and urged the US president to order strikes against the Iran-aligned Houthi movement.

Trump reportedly declined the request, with US officials indicating that the administration is not currently planning to launch direct military action against the Houthis.

The development comes amid heightened security concerns involving the Houthis and their activities in the region.

Daily Post also observed that CNN separately reported that about 100 US military advisers are currently in Saudi Arabia, where they are providing intelligence and assistance in identifying Houthi targets.

However, the US personnel are reportedly not participating directly in military strikes against the group.
