The development was disclosed by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, in a post shared via his X handle.

According to security sources cited in the report, the operation was carried out at about 11:48 a.m. on May 30 by troops of CSI Battalion III in collaboration with vigilantes and forest rangers.

The sources said the joint security team was conducting a patrol at the Kharisin hunting ground when suspected terrorists sighted the advancing troops and fled the area.

In the process, the suspects reportedly abandoned their captives, leading to the successful rescue of three kidnapped victims.

The rescued victims were immediately taken into custody for medical attention and preliminary investigation.

Security personnel have since intensified patrols and search operations in the area to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent further criminal activities.

The operation forms part of ongoing military efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts, combat insecurity and enhance the safety of residents in Kebbi State and adjoining border communities.

Authorities urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to aid ongoing security operations.
