Troops rescue 10 kidnap victims in Katsina
Nigerian troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued 10 civilians abducted by armed terrorists in Katsina State.
The victims were kidnapped from Unguwan Daudu and Unguwan Chibauna communities in Funtua Local Government Area.
According to the military, troops deployed around the Sabuwa axis received actionable intelligence on the abduction and moved to intercept the terrorists as they fled with the victims.
The troops sustained the pursuit, forcing the terrorists to abandon the captives and flee into the surrounding area.
The rescued victims comprised three adult males, six females and an infant.
The military said the victims were taken to safety and are expected to be handed over to the Sabuwa Local Government authorities for medical evaluation and reunification with their families.
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist activities and rescue abducted civilians across the North-West.
