The operations took place between October 29 and 30, 2026, following attacks by Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, fighters on troops in the two locations.

According to a statement by OPHK Acting Media Information Officer, Capt. Mohammed Goni, troops repelled an attempted attack on their position in Bitta, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, on the night of October 29.

Goni said ground troops, supported by air assets, overwhelmed the attackers and disrupted their offensive.
