Kelce and Swift tied the knot at Madison Square Garden on July 3, and have kept quiet about the big day, but the Kansas City Chiefs tight end addressed the wedding on Wednesday when speaking with the media after training camp practice.

“Wedding was the best night of my life,” he said. “I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us. That’s all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration.”

The wedding talk mainly ended there as Kelce turned his attention to the upcoming NFL season. Going into Year 14, the tight end feels he can still play football “at a high level.”

“I still got a lot of love for this game,” he said. “I still think I can go out and play at a high level, and I want to go out there and prove myself that I can play at a better level than I did last year. I think that’s probably the biggest thing for me is making sure that I’m accountable for the guys in this room and every single play that I’m out there.”

Travis Kelce on getting married at Madison Square Garden

Kelce returned to the topic of the wedding briefly when asked what it meant to him as a lifelong sports man to get married at Madison Square Garden.

“I always told myself I’d go for a playoff game when the (New York) Knicks were rocking,” he said. “My wife went when I was stuck in mini camp, so I didn’t get my opportunity to go then. It’s kind of cool to be able to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue and the Mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there.”

Kelce added that he was grateful for MSG Entertainment letting them hold the wedding there, “knowing that we wanted a private event and everything.”

“It was perfect, and the AC was cooking, baby. That was the best part,” he said.

Details from the wedding are still sparse a month later, though Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was one of the first to speak publicly about the couple’s nuptials.

Two days after the ceremony, Reid shared with the Deseret News the marriage advice officiant Adam Sandler gave the couple.

“He told them, ‘Keep kissing,'” Reid said. “So, in its simplest form, that’s a good thing. It’s hard to argue when you give your wife a kiss, or your wife gives you a kiss. And make sure you do it every day, every minute that you have an opportunity to do it. Knock it out, and you won’t have problems.”
