Tony Ferguson taught Arman how to throw killer elbow that knocked out Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331

Arman Tsarukyan was struggling against fellow lightweight contender Mauricio Ruffy in the UFC 331 co-main event last weekend in Los Angeles, but as time began winding down in the opening frame, “The Batman” uncorked a fight-ending elbow that sent the Brazilian to la-la-land.

Turns out Tsarukyan learned it from Tony Ferguson during their Hype Fighting days in Thailand.

“You saw Arman Tsarukyan with that elbow in the corner, right? I remember showing Arman that elbow over in Thailand,” the former UFC interim lightweight champion told Fred Talks Fighting. “When it comes down to it, you know who taught me that one? One of my friends at the Reign Training Center. Being a good neighbor goes very far if you’re willing to be that person. If you want to be an a—hole, go ahead, keep all your intuition to yourself. Being able to push people to that next level and not being selfish. You just keep pulling people up.”

Being a good neighbor means watering their plants when they leave for vacation.

Ferguson, 42, will return to action against this weekend in Miami when he defends his Misfits middleweight title against Mahmoud “Prince of Egypt” Sebie as part of the “Cejudo vs. Walton” fight card on DAZN. As for Tsarukyan, 29, he’s expected to fight for the UFC lightweight title in early 2027.
