When the New England Patriots faced the Oakland Raiders in the AFC Divisional Playoff game during the 2001 season, a controversial Brady incompletion stole the headlines in a narrow 16-13 win for the Patriots.

Playing in the winter snow in Foxborough, the Raiders thought they had secured a turnover after Brady fumbled the ball following a hefty hit from Charles Woodson. However, the ruling from the officials was that it was an incomplete pass from Brady.

Almost 25 years on from the controversy, Brady has now suggested that he is ready to admit that the officials made the wrong call.

Brady has certainly been involved in a number of controversies during his time in the NFL and the Tuck Rule Game was one of the most debated. Having benefitted from the ruling on the field, Brady has now laughed about the game as he admits it may have been a fumble.

“You know what? I’m starting to think it wasn’t a forward pass and that I actually fumbled in the snow 25 years ago. Somebody get me on the stand. I’m ready to testify,” Brady said in his weekly power rankings for Fox Sports.

The former quarterback’s new role in the media has definitely shown a different side to Brady who had previously only allowed people to see his work-focused mindset. Brady has now opened the world up to his true personality since joining Fox Sports.

However, these comments are unlikely to go down well with Raiders fans, even after all of those years.

There was only 1:50 remaining on the clock when Brady was hit by the Raiders’ cornerback, Woodson. It was a decision by the officials that completely ended the Raiders’ hopes of securing a late win in the game.

The NFL eventually decided to get rid of the rule in 2013.
