The Titans news: Jeffrey Simmons breaks silenceTennessee Titans took on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in Week 2. It was a closer game than some may have expected. Unfortunately, Jeffery Simmons and his teammates did not get the win. In fact, Simmons may have given the Eagles some added motivation for this contest.

Simmons made some pregame comments about Hurts. He mentioned that his team needed to take his runs away and make him stay in the pocket. “We just need to make Jalen Hurts be a QB,” the Titans star said, via ESPN.

The two exchanged words after the game. Simmons attempted to clear the air once he spoke to reporters following the loss on Sunday.

“He’s a Super Bowl MVP. That wasn’t a shot at Jalen. The thing was if we can keep him contained in the pocket and eliminate him from making plays running, we’d have a chance at being successful,” the Titans star said, via ESPN’s Turron Davenport.

The Titans defense did make some plays on Sunday. Hurts threw two interceptions in the win over Tennessee. However, the Eagles quarterback was able to throw two touchdowns. He also found a connection with Devonta Smith, who racked up 115 yards receiving on the Titans defense.

This was certainly not the result Tennessee wanted. They are now 0-2 on the season under new head coach Robert Saleh. There is still a lot of time to turn things around, but this is still a brutal start nonetheless. Tennessee will look for its first win on September 27 against the New York Giants.
