A 26-20 win over the Indianapolis Colts was just what the doctor ordered for the Tennessee Titans as coach Titans’ Cam Ward finally got aRobert Saleh got his first win with the franchise. Cam Ward’s bright spots were pointed by OC Brian Daboll in the days leading up to the game, leading to a mediocre performance in Week 6.

Ward did enough to help his team secure the W, but he didn’t do well on the stat sheet by traditional metrics. The former top overall pick became the fifth QB since 2024 to start and finish a game, attempt 20+ passes, throw for less than 105 yards and still win, according to NFL on FOX.

On the positive side of the equation, the other four guys to join him have all done well thus far, including Bryce Young, Jalen Hurts, Bo Nix and Caleb Williams.

Ward also accomplished another interesting feat according to Shawn Syed of Sumer Sports. His 102 passing yards were the fewest by any QB in a winning effort this season.

On the opposite side of the ball, the Titans’ defense made life miserable on Colts QB Daniel Jones. They sacked him six times, making Titans CEO Burke Nihill look good after his recent statement in support of Saleh. Saleh, a defensive guru dating back to his days with the 49ers and Texans, was happy with the defensive performance, although plenty of kinks still need to be worked out.

The win came at a perfect time with Saleh defending against Cam Ward panic in Tennessee. Ward didn’t play worthy of his prior draft position, but he was part of a winning effort that the Titans can build off of going forward.
