Tinubu needs not attend every APC rally - Oshiomhole

The lawmaker representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that President Bola Tinubu does not need to attend every APC rally.

Oshiomhole made this assertion on Friday during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’.

He was reacting to questions about President Tinubu’s absence at some party campaigns, saying the President has more important state duties to attend to than going to every rally.

According to him, President Tinubu is the leader of the country and not just a rally chairman, adding that his absence at rallies does not mean he has abandoned the party.

“Tinubu need not attend every APC rally. The President has a country to run. Being absent at rallies does not mean he is not with the party. He is working for Nigerians,” Oshiomhole said.

He said APC governors and other leaders of the party are capable of representing the President at rallies and campaign grounds.

His statement comes amid criticisms from opposition parties who have been questioning President Tinubu’s absence at some APC events.
