Thunder trading former ASU basketball star Lu Dort, report says

Former Arizona State star Lu Dort is being traded as part of a three-team deal, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on X July 19.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are trading Dort to the Atlanta Hawks.

The Dallas Mavericks are getting Zaccharie Risacher from the Hawks, and Ryan Nembhard is headed to Atlanta from the Mavs. Risacher was the top overall selection in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The Thunder are also receiving three second-round picks, Charania posted.

One of the NBA’s top defenders, Dort spent one year at Arizona State in 2018-19. He helped the Thunder win an NBA championship in the 2024-25 season.

Undrafted, Dort averaged 11.6 points in his seven NBA seasons, all with the Thunder.
