Three UCLA softball players set to make AUSL debuts this week

Three UCLA Bruins fresh off of the 2026 college softball season will begin their Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) careers this week. UCLA had three players selected in this year’s draft, with star sluggers Megan Grant, Jordan Woolery and pitcher Taylor Tinsley all being drafted.

Grant was taken fourth overall by the Portland Cascade, Woolery was taken with the No. 6 overall to the Utah Talons. Tinsley will be in Utah alongside Woolery after getting drafted in the second round.

Tinsley and Woolery will make their debuts on Tuesday at 6:00p.m. on ESPN2 with the defending champion Talons hosting the Chicago Bandits. Grant will wait until Wednesday to begin her AUSL career, with the Cascade going on the road to face the Carolina Blaze.

All three players will leave an impressive legacy at UCLA. Tinsley set WCWS records with the amount of pitches thrown for the Bruins, Grant set a new Division I single-season record for home runs and Woolery batted .497 as a senior to bring home Softball America’s National Player of the Year award.

UCLA made it to the Women’s College World Series last month, where the Bruins were bounced by the WCWS runner-ups, Texas Tech, in a thrilling 8-7 extra inning loss. Less than two weeks later, the trio of Bruins will jump to the professional rank.

The quick turnaround is similar to what the six seniors on the UCLA’s women’s basketball team had to endure, turning to the WNBA just days after bringing home the NCAA title.
