Three Ducks invited to USA Baseball Collegiate National Team

The season may have ended too soon for the Oregon Ducks, but the baseball program could send three of its biggest stars to represent the country’s biggest collegiate baseball stars later this summer.

Oregon ace Will Sanford, reliever Tanner Bradley and first baseman Brayden Jaksa all received invites to USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp. They will be part of a group of 53 players competing to crack the 28-man roster for the Collegiate National Team. As a freshman, Jaksa is also eligible to join the “Stripes” team, which is typically made up of underclassmen.

The CNT Stars and CNT Stripes teams will play an exhibition schedule in late June before competing against each other in a five-game slate set to run from June 30 to July 4 in North Carolina. Then, the Collegiate National Team will leave for Taiwan, where the World Collegiate Baseball Championship is being held. The team will begin play on July 11 against Korea, with games also scheduled against Chinese Taipei and Japan.

If the Collegiate National Team advances far enough, the championship game is scheduled for July 15.

The Ducks could land three of their best players on the roster. Sanford dominated the Oregon rotation for the entire 2026 season, finishing with a 3.74 ERA in 17 starts. He racked up 126 strikeouts, the second-most by a Duck in a single season in program history, and earned All-American honors from Perfect Game USA.

Bradley earned multiple All-American honors as the most dependable piece out of the bullpen for the Ducks. The sophomore righty was also a first-team All-Big Ten selection after notching 84 strikeouts and a 1.66 ERA in a team-high 31 appearances. He also set a program record with a 0.82 WHIP in 2026.

Jaksa rotated as the backup catcher to start the season, but his bat eventually became too much for Mark Wasikowski to leave on the bench. After bouncing around the field, he found a home at first base and as a key figure in Oregon’s lineup. The Ducks’ freshman slashed .318/.400/.534 with a .934 OPS and 10 home runs, en route to multiple All-American honors. The 6-foot-6 star has a future behind the dish, but his versatility to play first base and the outfield could land him a spot on the 28-man roster.

Oregon has not had an invite for the Collegiate National Team since 2018, when right-handed pitcher and slugger Kenyon Yovan made the team for a second season in a row. Now, landing three invites, the Ducks are well-positioned to end the drought and showcase their young stars on an international scale this summer.
