Texas baseball: Exhibition, SEC schedules set for Longhorns ahead of 2027 season
The Texas baseball team will play ball this fall.
On Thursday, Texas announced that it will head to Round Rock’s Dell Diamond on Oct. 3 for an exhibition game against Houston. The first pitch for the Longhorns and Cougars is set for 12 p.m.
The nine-inning scrimmage will be UT’s only fall contest.
Texas holds a 99-35-2 lead in its all-time series with Houston. This past March, the Cougars recorded a 9-7 win at the Longhorns’ expense in Houston.
Texas reached the College World Series in 2026 as head coach Jim Schlossnagle finished up his second season with the program. The Longhorns are set to return 14 letterwinners in 2027, and UT is adding both a highly-rated transfer class and a top-five recruiting class to its roster.
Thursday’s announcement about the Houston exhibition wasn’t the only schedule-related news that was released by Texas this week. On Tuesday, the SEC schedule for UT was also revealed. The Longhorns will host South Carolina (March 25-27), Tennessee (April 9-11), Arkansas (April 23-25), Vanderbilt (April 30-May 2) and Texas A&M (May 14-16) this spring while also visiting LSU (March 19-21), Alabama (April 2-4), Florida (April 16-18), Oklahoma (May 7-9) and Georgia (May 20-22).
