Teenage winger says yes to Barcelona move as club prepare new bid – Romano
Barcelona have used the summer transfer window to completely revamp their attack, and it looks like they are not done yet.
Robert Lewandowski left the club at the end of last season and Marcus Rashford’s loan was also not extended, leaving Barça having to sign attackers in the market.
Barça wrapped up a deal for Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon just before the World Cup and have now reached an agreement to sign Karim Adeyemi.
One other player Barcelona have set their sights on is Belgian teenager Jesse Bisiwu. It was reported earlier that the Catalan club had tabled a bid for the 18-year-old.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are preparing to make another bid for Bisiwu after seeing an offer worth around €9 million rejected by Club Brugge.
The Belgian club are also demanding a significant sell-on clause as part of any agreement.
Bisiwu gives Barcelona the green light
The most encouraging detail for Barcelona is the player’s position. As per Romano, Bisiwu has said yes to a move, making it clear where his preference lies while negotiations between the two clubs continue.
Barcelona still need to find an agreement with Club Brugge, and the financial structure of the operation remains an important obstacle.
However, having the player committed to the idea of joining the Blaugrana gives Deco a stronger position.
After their opening proposal of around €9 million was rejected, Barça are now expected to return with an improved bid.
For Barcelona, the challenge is finding the right balance. The club clearly see Bisiwu as a winger for the future, but financial discipline remains essential when investing in young players who are not yet guaranteed first-team roles.
Clear pattern in Barcelona’s attacking targets
Ferran Torres’ future at Barcelona is far from certain, with the Spanish forward a candidate to leave the club and join PSG this summer.
If he leaves, Barça’s attacking contingent could look like this: Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, Jesse Bisiwu and Julian Alvarez, if they arrive.
Hansi Flick is very clear that he wants players who provide as much out of possession as they give with the ball.
The attack is shaping up into something promising for Barcelona ahead of the new season, and it remains to be seen whether the club go ahead and wrap up a deal to sign Bisiwu.
