The Dodgers recently lost their third consecutive series, but a more concerning statistic involves their two-way star, Shohei Ohtani, who went 1-for-11 against the Diamondbacks in Arizona over the weekend.
While Los Angeles can accept that Ohtani is not performing at his Angels levels on the mound, they cannot remain competitive without his offensive contributions.
LA is now 2-8 in their last 10 games and is enduring a major slump, with their star players unable to perform at their peak. Fans were quick to share their reactions to Ohtani’s struggles at the plate during the D-backs series loss over the weekend.

Ohtani went 0-for-4 in the series finale against Arizona, with Andy Pages and Kyle Tucker the only hitters with an RBI each. The Dodgers’ bullpen failed to impress on Sunday. Justin Wrobleski opened the proceedings, giving up three runs on six hits, which eventually gave the D-backs an early 4-0 lead.
Eduardo Rodriguez pitched a gem for the home side, racking up nine strikeouts over seven IP.
Shohei Ohtani Is Slumping, But His 2026 Season Stats Show MVP Possibilities
Ohtani has a .292 batting average, 26 home runs, 71 RBIs, and a .939 OPS in 112 games this year. The Japanese star is on pace to hit 36 home runs and drive in 97 RBIs this season. He remains in the NL MVP debate, although Cubs CF Pete Crow-Armstrong has continually gone from strength to strength across all departments this season.
Ohtani and the Dodgers will be eager to snap out of their disappointing slump soon, as they set their sights on a crucial seven-game homestand against the Royals and the Brewers starting Monday. LA is currently 70-48 for the campaign, comfortably atop the NL West, 7.5 games ahead of the second-place D-backs.
