TCU WR Dozie Enukanma allegedly hospitalised following altercation with fellow college teammate

Dozie Enukanma finds himself in need of medical attention after an alleged attack from his TCU teammate, Jacob Fields.

Enukanma was hospitalised for three days following the alleged assault from Fields, which has resulted in the Safety being let go by the team.

And as the situation unravels, the details of the incident in question show just how seriously wrong things could have gone.

Dozie Enukanma spent three days in a hospital following alleged attack

According to Shambhavi Rimal of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Texas Christian University (TCU) Wide Receiver Dozie Enukanma was hospitalised for three days following an alleged assault at the hands of Safety Jacob Fields.

Enukanma was reportedly sitting in the locker room on August 13th and looking at his phone when Fields allegedly punched him in the forehead before kicking him in the head when he was on the floor.

The WR told TCU Police Department that all he remembers was waking up after the alleged attack and asking what happened.

Fellow WR Terry Shelton reportedly detailed the incident to Enukanma, who claims he was knocked out and doesn’t remember anything else from the altercation.

Ezukanma told the authorities that Fields was allegedly motivated to attack him after being outperformed during a training session and in intense back-and-forth during previous days of the training camp.

Shelton corroborated the story to the TCU Police Department, who revealed that he yelled out for assistant athletic trainer Curtis Talley Jr., who was in the training room.

Following the incident, the team doctor urged Ezukanma to undergo a CT scan to ensure there were no internal brain injuries.

It took the WR almost two hours after the incident to be admitted to the hospital, where he was admitted to the ICU following a CT scan that revealed he had a brain bleed.

In response to this, Fields was booked into Tarrant County Jail after he refused to respond to TCU Police Department, before being released on a $50,000 bond.

Fields’ agent, Phillip Miller, claimed that the TCU Safety voluntarily turned himself in, and that he wouldn’t make any further statement.

“I understand the media and public may be looking for an explosive statement from Jacob or me. Now is not the time or the place.

“We will not try this case through social media or the court of public opinion. There is a proper place for the facts to be heard, and we will respect that process.”

Fields was let go from the team after TCU reported the incident to campus police on August 14th. The legal proceedings from this situation are expected to extend well into the season.
