Dave Allen vs. Thomas Carty – heavyweight contest

Round 1: Carty starting off well with his jab. Allen answers by going to the body. Crowd-pleasing start with neither man taking a back step. Carty’s jab clearly giving Allen problems. Carty presses forward and is landing good shots, but he suddenly stumbles head-first out of the ring! What the heck???

Lots of confusion. Replays show Allen might have clipped him with a shot near the back of the head that stunned him. Scary fall.

Allen looks completely bewildered. They’re checking on Carty at ringside, he’s sitting up, but doesn’t look like he’s in great shape. They’ve brought out the oxygen tank and this one looks to be over.

Replays give us a few good looks at what happened and Carty definitely turned his head away must as Allen was throwing in the clinch, caught a hard shot to the back of the head, then fell through the ropes. Should be headed to a no-contest verdict.
