Elliot Stroud has become Hull City’s seventh summer signing after his move to the newly-promoted Premier League side from Mjallby was confirmed on Sunday.

Stroud, who represented Sweden at this summer’s World Cup, has signed a four-year contract, with an option for an additional year, for a reported £3.5m transfer fee.

The versatile 24-year-old can operate in either full-back position, while he also played out wide in midfield during his time in the Allsvenskan.

He made 87 league appearances across three seasons with his former club, scoring 19 goals as well as providing 13 assists. Since joining Mjallby in 2023, no player has created more chances than Stroud’s 125 in the division.

Stroud played his part in Mjallby’s maiden Allsvenskan triumph in 2025, with more silverware following in May with victory in the Svenska Cupen final, a game he also scored in.

“I am super happy and super excited to get started here. When I first heard of the interest, it was the only thing I wanted to do,” Stroud told Hull’s website.

“I have individual hopes to play at the highest level possible. When an opportunity like this comes, it’s not something you take lightly. To do it here in Hull is an exciting opportunity.

“The World Cup was an amazing experience. To represent your country in a World Cup is the biggest honour you can have as a player.

“It was a dream of mine to play in the Premier League. I am super excited to get this opportunity and hopefully create something magical this season.”

Stroud arrives at MKM Stadium with international experience, having featured in all four of Sweden’s World Cup matches, starting in their last-32 defeat to France.

Ahead of their first Premier League campaign since 2016-17, Hull have also signed Jack Butland, Oscar Zambrano, Matt Targett, Hidemasa Morita, Konstantinos Tzolakis and Jens Hjerto-Dahl.

The likes of Nobel Mendy, Lucas Herrington, Zinedin Smajlovic and Leon Bailey have also been linked with moves to Hull, with the Tigers beginning their league season at home to Manchester United on August 22.
