Swansea City handed huge injury boost ahead of Burnley bout
Vitor Matos has confirmed Gonçalo Franco is available for Swansea City’s Championship clash with Burnley on Saturday.
The midfielder is yet to feature this season after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury suffered during pre-season.
“Franco completely trained with the team today and that’s the only thing that changed [in terms of availability],” Matos said.
“The squad is looking good and Franco is a possibility for the next game.
“I’ll always be glad to have him back. Franco is a real big player for us, was really important for us last season, and has a lot of things that are important to us such as his game and identity.
“For him it’s about step by step towards being fitter and we use him when we believe it’s the right time.”
Matos also provided a positive update on Ross Stewart, who is approaching the final stages of his recovery from a quad injury and could return around the international break.
“Ross is in his final few weeks of rehab,” Matos added. “We’d probably be looking around international break, but he is doing well.”
