Strasbourg closing in to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jørgensen

RC Strasbourg Alsace are reported to have finalised the signing of Chelsea FC’s Filip Jørgensen (24), according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The Danish goalkeeper is therefore set to join the French club on a loan deal with no option to buy.

Having been on the lookout for a first-choice goalkeeper following the departure of Mike Penders (21) – who was already on loan at RCSA from the Blues last season – the Alsatian club has finally secured Jørgensen this summer.

Born in Lomma, Sweden, the 1.92-metre-tall player began his professional career at Spanish club Villarreal CF, which he joined in 2020. Transferred to Chelsea in the summer of 2024, he was one of the key players in the Londoners’ Conference League title win a few months later.

As the backup to Robert Sánchez (28), however, he had a more difficult 2025-26 season, making just 12 appearances in all competitions without ever managing to keep a single clean sheet.
