Stewartville soccer set to host fourth annual Mason Ramaker Memorial Alumni Match

Jul. 22—Stewartville — This Saturday, the Stewartville High School soccer community is coming together for the fourth annual Mason Ramaker Memorial Alumni Match, honoring the life of their former brother and Stewartville student.

This meaningful afternoon of soccer, remembrance, and community support will feature back-to-back matches between the current Stewartville varsity boys and girls soccer teams and their alumni counterparts in an effort to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention.

The event will take place from 4 — 9 p.m. on July 25th at Stewartville High School’s Schaefer Field. The women’s alumni match will kick off at 5:00 PM, followed by the men’s alumni match at 7:00 PM.

“This event is about more than soccer; it’s about healing, hope, and honoring Mason’s legacy,” said Chris Kuisle, event organizer and Stewartville soccer coach. “We are incredibly grateful for our community’s support and invite everyone to join us for a day that truly matters.”

Kuisle noted these spirited games are more than just athletic competitions; they’re a celebration of community and a commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. The event brings together players, families, and supporters in a show of solidarity for those struggling and in remembrance of those we’ve lost.

Admission is donation-only, making this event accessible to all while supporting a vital cause.

In addition to the alumni vs. varsity matchups, the event will also feature a silent auction, 50/50 raffles, concessions and a Stewartville FC youth soccer scrimmage.

All proceeds, including those from auctions, raffles, concessions, and donations, will directly benefit the Hope Squad — a peer-to-peer suicide prevention program serving Stewartville School District students — as well as Family Service Rochester — a non-profit providing accessible mental health and family support services to all individuals, regardless of financial circumstances.
